If you're after a good-quality daily food that won't cost the earth, Harringtons Lamb & Rice is one we're happy to have on the shelf. It's a proper "no nasties, no surprises" recipe — real meat first, no artificial colours or flavours, and nothing hidden in the small print.

Who it's best for

Adult dogs of all breeds and sizes, from 8 weeks and up. A brilliant everyday all-rounder for dogs without specific dietary needs, and a great choice if you want a trusted, natural food that's kind on the wallet. It can be fed on its own or mixed with your dog's favourite wet food.

Who it's not for

If your dog has a known grain sensitivity, this isn't the one — it contains maize, barley, oats and rice. For grain-sensitive pups, pop us a message and we'll point you to a better fit. Growing pups and very active dogs will need feeding little and often, and to appetite.

Feeding at a glance (daily, split across meals — always with fresh water)

• Add around 10% more for active dogs, and always switch foods gradually over a week or so.
