Meet the team
Ralph - CEO
This is Ralph the Pug. We have had Ralph since he was a teeny tiny pup. He is the stubbon-ist pug you have ever met and a real meany as he doesn't give puggy kisses. He plays hard to get if you try and kiss him too, but we always manage to pinch them. He ignores you if you shout him, but will occasionally try and look at you out the corner of his eye. He certainly is a character. He will try and cut his hooman mums hair in the morning whilst she is still trying to sleep by chewing it, he scratches the doors in the morning for his breakfast and at bang on 5pm for his tea, he tries to pull his hooman dads shorts down and he has no spacial awareness what so ever. But my god... we adore the bones of this little fella and he couldn't be more loved than what he is. He is the one that demanded we designed his own harness, collars and leads, and whatever Ralphy wants, Ralphy gets. He also demanded the title CEO, so this caused major arguments with Suki, who you will meet next. Never known dogs argue over job titles... but these dogs are special.. in more ways than one. So that’s Ralph the Pug in a nutshell, a very small one at that.
Onto our first rescue...
Suki - COO
This is Suki the Romanian Rescue. We met Suki at a local animal rescue and she had been there for around 4 months when we met her. She was acting all big and brave behind her little kennel by shouting at us through her fence. However, we took her out for a walk, and we all just fell in love with each other. Ralph and Suki met, and from that minute on, we knew Ralphy would always be in charge, that was needless to say. He told her this straight away, Suki took it on the chin. Suki came home with us the week after, and it feels like we have had her FOREVER. We adopted her in Feb 2019. She was so nervous, wouldn’t come in the house, or go upstairs at first, now she is a complete bed hopper, has her own bedroom, and is an absolute princess, and she knows it. In July 2019, we found out that Suki had pups which were found with her on the streets of Romania. 3 gorgeous girls. 1 of the pups were over here in foster in the UK. BUT the other 2, were still in Romania. The day we found out was the day we raised the money to get them over here... it took us 2 days and that is it to raise the money. They are all now all living their best lives, just as they deserve. Suki is a spoilt princess who hops from room to room in the house and is completely a daddy's girl, but just look at her.. she really does look like a real life princess. She treats her hooman Dad like he is her baby, she nibbles his hairy arms and legs and we say she is 'de-fleeing him', he is in charge, and her mum is the underdog it seems, she gets away with murder. Spoilt beautiful princess Suki.
Now onto the next rescue..
Maisie - Head of Administration
This is Maisie the Rescue Pug. We signed up to foster Pugs that were being rescued from all over the world. However... Maisie hit our screens, pug from Hungary needing forever home, and we IMMEDIATELY fell head over heels in love with her, and we applied to adopt her. Following completing massive applications and home checks, sleepless nights waiting for the call.. the phone rang to ask us if we can be Maisie's new adopted mum, dad, brother and sister. Her hooman Mumma screamed, we never needed to say yes, they already knew. So we picked Maisie up in July 2020. She was such a timid little girl, bowing down if you tried to stroke her and the fear in her eyes was heart wrenching, her mumma even cried. She too had pups, only known by the look of her teats. Now, Maisie is a different dog, she loves walks (hated them at first, she wanted to be carried by her mumma), she sleeps in a big bed with her mum, dad and brother (princess suki has her own double bed, she says why would I share a bed with 4 others when I can starfish in my own double - not stupid is she). Maisie loves play time with her mum, dad, brother and sister and she will also play on her own with her toys. She is so laid back she is horizontal, literally, she lays in bed like this too. So we asked Maisie what title she wanted to have for Funky Paws, she said she wanted an easier job than Ralph and Suki, wanted something with no stress or worries, she said 'can I be chief sleeper, because it is my favourite thing to do?' We obviously talked her out of this one and settled with 'Head of administration' instead. Lazy bones.
So there you have it.. for now at least (Hooman mum is working on Hooman dad to adopt another pug) this is our Funky Family. Something to let you get to know our puppas who inspired us to build this business but also some light hearted fun.
